The Trial (Le procès) (1962)

Josef K wakes up in the morning and finds the police in his room. They tell him that he is on trial but nobody tells him what he is accused of. In order to find out about the reason for this accusation and to protest his innocence, he tries to look behind the façade of the judicial system. But since this remains fruitless, there seems to be no chance for him to escape from this Kafkaesque nightmare.

Josef K se trezește într-o dimineață și găsește poliția în camera lui. I se spune că este implicat într-un proces, însă nu i se dezvăluie acuzațiile care îi sunt aduse. Pentru a afla adevărul și pentru a protesta, proclamându-și nevinovăția, încearcă să arunce o privire în spatele fațadei sistemului judiciar. Însă roadele eforturilor sale nu vor veni prea ușor, iar K se va simți pe zi ce trece din ce în ce mai mult ca un personaj dintr-un coșmar kafkian.
