Based on the true story of Oberleutnant Franz von Werra, the only german prisoner of war captured in Britain to escape back to Germany during the Second World War.
Filmul, inspirat din realitate, îl prezintă pe ofiţerul german Franz von Werra, pilot al unui avion de vânătoare, care a fost doborât în timpul celui de-al Doilea Război Mondial pe teritoriul Marii Britanii, fiind singurul pilot german care a reuşit să evadeze după ce a fost luat prizonier.
