The film opens in the lobby of a small hotel, where the desk clerk/owner (Budd Ross) is addressing three members of staff: the cook, the waiter and the bellboy. It is obvious from their reactions, particularly the cook (Leo White) that whatever was said did not go down too well. His animated arms knock down the man standing behind him repeatedly until all three servants simultaneously quit. They storm off into the adjoining kitchen where a slavery maid (Blanche White) is on the floor scrubbing the floor. The men all trip over her, moan briefly and then leave.

Filmul începe în holul unui mic hotel, unde funcționarul / proprietarul (Budd Ross) se adresează a trei membri ai personalului: bucătarul, chelnerul și băiatul de serviciu. Este evident din reacțiile lor, în special din a bucătarului (Leo White), că orice s-a spus nu a fost prea bine. Brațele sale animate îl doboară pe bărbatul care stă în spatele lui în mod repetat până când toți cei trei servitori au renunțat simultan. Ei pleacă în bucătăria alăturată, unde o servitoare (Blanche White) este pe podea și speală podeaua. Toți bărbații se împiedică de ea, gem scurt și apoi pleacă.
