Kid, an anonymous young man who ekes out a meager living in an underground fight club where, night after night, wearing a gorilla mask, he is beaten bloody by more popular fighters for cash. After years of suppressed rage, Kid discovers a way to infiltrate the enclave of the city’s sinister elite. As his childhood trauma boils over, his mysteriously scarred hands unleash an explosive campaign of retribution to settle the score with the men who took everything from him.
Omul-maimuță spune povestea lui Kid (Dev Patel), un tânăr anonim care trăiește cu greu într-un club de lupte clandestin unde, noapte de noapte, purtând o mască de gorilă, este bătut până la sânge de luptători mai populari pentru bani. După ani de furie reprimată, Kid descoperă o modalitate de a se infiltra în enclava elitei sinistre a orașului. Pe măsură ce traumele copilăriei sale dau în clocot, mâinile sale cu cicatrici misterioase declanșează o campanie explozivă de răzbunare pentru a regla conturile cu cei care i-au luat totul.
