Set near the end of the Third Age of Middle-earth. Arathorn takes refugees to Taurdal, the village of his father, Arador. Then as Arador begins his campaign against the gathering orc bands in the north, he sends Arathorn onward to find the motive behind these Orcs attacks.
Povestea se desfasoara inainte de Razboiul Inelului si spune povestea Dunedain-ilor, rangeri ai nordului, inainte de intoarcerea Regelui. Inspirat din cateva paragrafe scrise de Tolkien ca adaugiri la Stapanul Inelelor, filmul ii urmareste pe Arathorn si Gilraen, parintii lui Aragorn, incepand cu pima lor intalnire si trecand prin vremuri agitate din istoria poporului lor. Arathorn, tatal lui Aragorn, si-a pierdut mama cand avea 12 ani si si-a petrecut copilaria in Rivendell. C…
