The fake private detective Mike Spillone is hired by two old ladies to find out if Brigitte, the wife of their nephew Otello Bellomo, has a lover. Brigitte is a physician but the two aunts are unaware of the fact. While investigating, Mike and his assistant Johnny discover Brigitte with a prospective patient, the marquis De Vitti who was shot by the husband of the woman he tried to seduce. Afterwards Spillone finds her with her husband who he believes to be her lover.
Falsul detectiv privat Mike Spillone este angajat de două bătrâne pentru a afla dacă Brigitte, soția nepotului lor Otello Bellomo, are un iubit. Brigitte este medic, dar cele două mătuși nu cunosc acest fapt. În timp ce investighează, Mike și asistentul său Johnny o descoperă pe Brigitte cu un potențial pacient, marchizul De Vitti, care a fost împușcat de soțul femeii pe care a încercat să o seducă. Ulterior, Sppillone o găsește cu soțul ei, pe care el îl crede iubitul ei.
