The Paper Chase este un film american de comedie-dramă din 1973, cu Timothy Bottoms, Lindsay Wagner și John Houseman, regizat de James Bridges. Bazat pe romanul din 1971 al lui John Jay Osborn Jr., The Paper Chase, înfățișează povestea lui James Hart, un student în primul an la Drept, la Harvard Law School, experiențele sale cu profesorul Charles Kingsfield, un instructor strălucit și exigent în Dreptul contractelor și relația lui Hart cu fiica lui Kingsfield. John Houseman (actor de origine română) a câștigat un premiu Oscar la categoria Cel mai bun actor în rol secundar pentru interpretarea profesorului.
