The true story of how Ray Kroc, a salesman from Illinois, met Mac and Dick McDonald, who were running a burger operation in 1950s Southern California. Kroc was impressed by the brothers’ speedy system of making the food and saw franchise potential. He maneuvered himself into a position to be able to pull the company from the brothers and create a billion-dollar empire.
Filmul „Fondatorul” urmăreşte despre povestea adevărată a lui Ray Kroc (Michael Keaton), un agent de vânzări din Illinois, şi cum i-a cunoscut el pe Mac şi Dick McDonald (Nick Offerman şi John Carroll Lynch), care conduceau o afacere cu burgeri în California de Sud a anilor ’50. Impresionat de sistemul rapid de preparare a mâncării de la standul cu hamburgeri din San Bernardino, dar şi de mulţimea pe care o atrăgea, Kroc a întrezărit imediat un imens potenţial de francizare. El a găsit o modalitate de a ajunge într-o poziţie în care să poată obţine compania de la fraţii McDonald, creând un imperiu de miliarde de dolari. Şi aşa s-a născut McDonald’s.
