Finney Blake, a shy but clever 13-year-old boy, is abducted by a sadistic killer and trapped in a soundproof basement where screaming is of little use. When a disconnected phone on the wall begins to ring, Finney discovers that he can hear the voices of the killer’s previous victims. And they are dead set on making sure that what happened to them doesn’t happen to Finney.
Telefonul este mort. Dar sună... Finney Shaw, un băiat de 13 ani, timid, dar inteligent, este răpit de un ucigaș sadic și închis într-un subsol izolat fonic, unde țipetele nu-l ajută cu nimic. Când un telefon deconectat prins în perete începe să sune, Finney descoperă că poate auzi vocile victimelor anterioare ale ucigașului. Și acestea sunt gata să se asigure că ceea ce li s-a întâmplat lor nu i se va întâmpla lui Finney.
