Angela Barrows is a man-eating business woman sent by her American employer to investigate their export opportunities in Edinburgh. En route she meets Robert MacPherson, a businessman who asks for her help to bring his company into the 20th Century. The staff, led by Mr Martin, has other ideas—and a battle between the old and new business methods soon breaks out.
Femeie de afaceri pe cat de tenace, pe atat de seducatoare, americanca Angela Barrows e trimisa de patronul sau la Edinburgh, pentru prospectarea pietei. Pe drum, ea il intalneste pe Robert MacPherson, care tocmai mostenise intreprinderea textila a tatalui sau si care o convinge pe Angela sa-l asiste la modernizarea acesteia. Ajunsa la fata locului, femeia se confrunta cu dl Martin, care se opune tuturor inovatiilor propuse de ea.
