After a quayside mix-up with the Italian family of his fiancée, Able Seaman Knocker White finds himself literally left holding the baby. Unable to return it before his ship sails he enlists the help of best mate Puncher Roberts to smuggle the child aboard. But babies are surprisingly demanding and gradually the whole crew is drawn into helping keep it fed and washed - and undiscovered. Even so, the officers above deck start to puzzle over the increasingly strange happenings on board.
După o confuzie cu familia italiană a logodnicei sale, marinarul Knocker White se trezește literalmente lăsat cu copilul în brațe. Incapabil să-l returneze înainte ca nava sa să plece, el cere ajutorul celui mai bun prieten Puncher Roberts pentru a-l transporta pe copil la bord. Dar bebelușii sunt surprinzător de pretențioși și, treptat, întregul echipaj este atras să-l ajute să-l hrănească și să-l spele - și să rămână nedescoperiți. Chiar și așa, ofițerii de pe punte încep să se întrebe de întâmplările din ce în ce mai ciudate de la bord.
