Mercenarul

While a Mexican revolutionary lies low as a U.S. rodeo clown, the cynical Polish mercenary who tutored the idealistic peasant tells how he and a dedicated female radical fought for the soul of the guerrilla general Paco, as Mexicans threw off repressive government and all-powerful landowners in the 1910s. Tracked by the vengeful Curly, Paco liberates villages, but is tempted by social banditry's treasures, which Kowalski revels in.

În timpul revoluției mexicane, Paco Roman se răzvrătește împotriva patronului său, proprietar de mină, și se alătură trupelor de rebeli. Printre aceștia se află și mercenarul polonez Serghei Kowalski, ajuns acolo din întâmplare, după ce planul său de a transporta argint în SUA - contra cost, firește - a dat greș. După o serie de aventuri în care Paco și Kowalski sunt când aliați, când dușmani, amândoi cad în mâinile armatei și sunt condamnați la moarte.
