Johanna wants to change her life and quit the criminal gangs of the town of Oss in the 1930s. The harder she tries, the more she is involved.
Acțiunea filmului se desfășoară în Olanda, în orășelul Oss, în anul 1939, înainte de invazia nazistă. Aici, aproape întreaga comunitate este coruptă, dar Johanna van Heesch încearcă să-și schimbe viața și să iasă dintre bandele criminale.
