Serialul pornește de la premisa că Ashur nu a murit pe Vezuviu în deznodământul celui de-al doilea sezon al poveștii originale. Într-o lume în care a supraviețuit evenimentelor din “Spartacus (2010)”, Ashur și-a croit drum spre putere deținând acelasi ludus care l-a stăpânit odinioară.
