Căpitanul Anne Giudicelli este desemnată să investigheze cazul unui cadavru găsit răstignit în cripta catedralei Saint-Sauveur din Aix-en-Provence. Ea găsește o bucată veche de pergament scrisă în stilul unei profeții Nostradamus. Anne își dă seama curând că va avea nevoie de ajutorul surorii ei vitrege, Pauline, deși nu au mai vorbit de zece ani.
