Painter Francisco Goya becomes involved with the Spanish Inquisition after his muse, Inés, is arrested by the church for heresy. Her family turns to him, hoping that his connection with fanatical Inquisitor Lorenzo, whom he is painting, can secure her release.

Pictorul Francisco Jose de Goya, barbat respectat si influent, intra in legatura cu Inchizitia spaniola dupa ce muza lui, Ines, este arestata de biserica sub acuzatia de erezie. Thomas, tatal acesteia, constient de relatia pictorului cu Fratele Lorenzo, caruia ii pregateste un portret, ii cere ajutorul pentru eliberarea prea tinerei si frumoasei lui fiice, Ines.
