Demain nu este un documentar ecologist, ci o privire asupra societăţii aşa cum ar putea fi mâine. Filmul începe de la un studiu ştiinţific publicat în revista Nature, în 2012. Acesta, destul de devastator, anunță o prăbușire generală a ecosistemelor care ne înconjoară, deci şi sfârșitul condițiilor stabile de viață pe Pământ.
