Leo is immediately set adrift by his new found responsibilities as a single parent, a feeling that is made doubly distressing when Dafne, herself understandably confused and heartbroken by her mother's absence, asks for an "artificial" mother to help her fall asleep at night. It is here that Mañas takes the road less traveled, but to write any more about the plot line he introduces would be unfair to both the viewer and filmmaker alike. Suffice it to say that Leo's actions are both surprising and potentially dangerous, as they require Leo to subsume his own identity to the point where he nearly loses it.
O familie obişnuită din Madrid - Leo, Alicia şi fiica lor Daphne. Tata munceşte, mama se ocupă de educaţia copilului şi de casă, totul merge în ritmul său obişnuit şi confortabil. Brusc Alicia moare de epilepsie, iar Leo şi Daphne trebuie să se înveţe să trăiască fără ea. Lui Leo îi vine foarte greu, iar copilul nu poate trece peste faptul că mama s-a stins din viaţă. Nopţi la rând copilul insistent o cheamă. Uneori, pentru a face pe cineva fericit, oamenii iubitori sparg toate tabuurile. Leo se hotărăşte şi acum seri la rând el îmbracă rochia, perucă, se dă cu ruj roşu, şi devine "mamă" . Pas cu pas totul devine un joc în pragul nebuniei.
