James White is a troubled twentysomething trying to stay afloat in a frenzied New York City. As he retreats further into a hedonistic lifestyle, his mother's battle with a serious illness faces a series of setbacks that force him to assume more responsibility. With the pressure on him mounting, James must find new reserves of strength or risk imploding completely.

James White (Christopher Abbott) este un tanar de vreo 20 de ani care are probleme si care incearca sa reziste intr-un New York agitat. Se retrage si mai mult intr-un stil de viata hedonistic si auto-distrugator, dar in timp ce mama sa (Cynthia Nixon) se lupta cu o boala grava, James este fortat sa ia controlul asupra vietii sale. Cu cat presiunea de pe umerii lui creste, James trebuie sa gaseasca noi rezerve de putere sau risca sa explodeze cu adevarat.
