A young man Tomoya Nagase and a girl Mayuko Fukuda both learn that they have an untreatable illness and are nearing death. When one reveals that they have never been to the ocean, they embark on a comical adventure to see the sea.

Un remake dupa filmul german din 1997 "Knockin' on Heaven's Door". Masato, de 28 ani, este diagnosticat cu o boala fatala si se simte iremediabil pierdut. Intr-o zi, el o intalneste Harumi, o fata de 14 ani, la spital. Ca si el, ea mai are doar o scurta perioada de timp de trait. Ei decid sa faca o ultima iesire la mare si fura o masina, fara sa stie ca aceasta contine un pistol si o mare suma de bani.
