Frank, a retired Irish seaman, and Walter, a retired Cuban barber, are two lonely old men trapped in the emptiness of their own lives. When they meet in a park Frank is able to start a conversation after several attempts. They begin to spend time together and become friends. But because of their different characters they often quarrel with each other and finally seperate after Frank misbehaves to Walter's friend Elaine.
Inspirat de aerul scrierilor marelui Hemingway, filmul este povestea a doi batrani, Frank (un fost pescar irlandez) si a lui Walter (fost frizer cubanez), ce isi duc impreuna singuratatea data de varsta lor respectabila. Cand se intalnesc, in obisnuita plimabare intr-un parc din Florida, Frank este cel ce este capabil sa starneasca o conversatie, dupa mai multe incercari. Azi asa, maine asa, ei se apropie din ce in ce mai mult, incep sa-si petreaca timpul impreuna si chiar devin prieteni. N-ar…
