Ichabod Crane, a Yankee wanderer, arrives in Sleepy Hollow and becomes the new schoolmaster. He meets Katrina Van Tassel, and blissfully fantasizes about how can marry her, ultimately, inherit her father's rich estate. Her suitor Brom Bones, the blacksmith, wants to scare him away and dresses up as the legendary Headless Horseman. During the prank, the real ghost appears and drives Ichabod off
Ecranizare a povestirii clasice a lui Washington Irving. Personajul principal Ichabod Crane vine in Sleepy Hollow pentru a ocupa postul de director la scoala din localitate, dar ajunge sa se intalneasca cu inspaimantatorul Calaret fara Cap. Padurea din Sleepy Hollow e bantuita de fantoma Calaretului fara Cap, iar cand Ichabod se duce singur in padure intr-o noapte, el provoaca mania legendarei fantome.
