Small-town bartender Owen Peadman goes to Los Angeles to raise money to help save his father's Minnesota restaurant. He tries to find a way into Hollywood society, where he meets socialite Lisa and her uptight actor boyfriend. Owen Peadman este un barman din Minnesota. Pentru a-l ajuta pe tatal sau sa stranga bani pentru micul sau restaurant, Owen se duce in Los Angeles sa concureze in competitia "King of the Bar". Dupa ce pierde in fata unui barman din LA, Owen il cauta pe exoticul sau unchi, Earl. Acesta il ajuta pe Owen sa castige bani, obtinandu-i o slujba in cadrul un show de scandal. Determinat sa obtina un subiect cat mai picant, care sa ii aduca suma de bani necesara, Owen si unchiul Earl isi indreapta atenti…
